Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian diplomat and political theorist from the 16th century that compiled his thoughts on ruling society into the treatise The Prince. The Prince is known as one of the first modern philosophies and helped bring the term Machiavellian into the lexicon. Machiavelli has extremely strong views packed into this short little collection that will teach you things like “If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.” Savage.

Thoughts
Used as a manual for business men and women, world class athletes, and leaders around the world The Prince teaches us the way of Niccolo Machiavelli. His leadership style is pragmatic. His style is savage. If followed directly it could probably work, leaving a wake of enemies behind you. While I don’t agree with everything in here I do like to read into philosophical ideologies because even back in the 1500s some of the things Machiavelli talks about can still be applied today. Philosophy is an understanding of the human experience, and learning more about that is always valuable. Although a quick read you can find a lot of one liners that are pretty badass and most likely tatted on that jacked dude’s back at the gym’s. Worth learning more about for sure, but not everything you read has to be something you believe for the rest of your life. Remember that folks.
